Well, here we were again, another Sunday's worth of top gaming with several extra, added bonuses bought to you by those lovely people at SavageUK. Firstly, we got to watch one game per division live and uninterrupted, thanks to Roc's excellent new QuakeTV programme. This was working beautifully and really was a joy to watch (especially for you ISDN basts ;) Secondly we got some new and improved stats in #scores courtesy of [BBC]Killemall's new CMMAdmin programme. Although this isn't yet fully operational and was only running on one game per division it looked very promising as we ran it alongside the regular CMM. However, disappointments, especially in the lower divisions as more and more clans continue to fold :( Still makes my job a bit less time consuming ;) Anyway, enough of telling you what you already know, here's the swimmers and sinkers of Savage week 5. Division 7 - 16:00 Dear, dear me. It's a bit depressing in division 7,as four of the division's 8 clans have folded. Sadly, none of the remaining clans were drawn against each other this week and the result was 4 defaults, which I shan't detail here. Needless to say CTFr, RR, UKSG and =YWN= took maximum points from their games here. Looks like Savage Q2CTF will be scaling down at the end of the season. Division 6 - 16:00 FREMEN vs TC Sadly another default here, this one going the way of clan FRE. Looks like they'll be moving up the league next season! ARSENAL FANATICS CLAN vs DIGITAL WARFARE "Aha, at last!" I hear you cry, a game that was played! Yes indeed, and pretty darn good it was too. A close fought, pretty tight game. Good defence from both clans saw that caps stayed down. Here's what happened. The first game kicked off in a fairly quiet manner, as both clans established themselves. Good scraps in the middle for quad meant that no early caps were forthcoming. However, if I had to put a bet on who would be the first to cap in this game, I would have put it on AFC's excellent attacker {AFC}Kanu. Fragging away like a madman (as usual), he tested the DW defence until finally breaking through in the sixth minute, giving AFC the lead. The two clan's top attackers {AFC}Kanu and DW leader -DW-Haste~UK then got down to work, but excellent defence from {AFC}Parlour and those guarding the DW base meant that the two clans seemed to cancel each other out. As hard as DW tried, they just couldn't make that vital breakthrough. {AFC}Kanu with some excellent fragging finished at the top of the AFC team, -DW-Haste~UK at the top of his clan's with similarly good killing. The game ended with a hard fought win for AFC, the second half looked promising. And indeed it was, as DW set to the task of getting something from this tie. At the change of ends, DW seemed more happy to move forward holding the middle ground well. However, for the first portion of the game AFC held out well. But, they couldn't keep this up, and in the 8th minute -DW-Haste~UK gave his clan that vital cap they needed, with his usual hit and run tactics, aided by some good cover from his team mates. And, it was the DW clan leader -DW-Haste~UK, who pretty much closed the game off for AFC, as he swooped in again in the 15th minute to put DW two up with AFC practically left with no time to mount any sort of reply. They were indeed unable to do this and the game ended with DW taking the other 3 points from the tie in another hard scrapped game. GG everyone, fought with determination and skill. WE KIKK BUTT vs GET EVEN NOT XTERMINATED Thankfully we were given an even better view into this game as [BBC]Killemall ran his CMMAdmin programme on it. WkB having a hard season at the moment, were definite underdogs at the start, but genx, without some of their better-known players looked weakened. And the game was no walkover for them by any means. The first game kicked off with WkB playing red, and, despite [genx]Furax lifting the WkB flag, they took the genx defence by surprise, as [WkB]Scourge wrestled the quad in midfield and the proceeded to rape the genx base. However he was unable to get his hands on the flag. WkB continued to impress, as new signing, ex bYc and HsF star [WkB]LuCiD got stuck into the action and [WkB]Badass managed to stay alive long enough in the genx base to get his hands on the flag, however a cap was not forthcoming. It was [genx]Furax who had been looking dangerous a lot so far who finally managed to get in and out of the WkB base, capping in exactly 31.2 seconds (God I love Killie's programme :), in the 6th minute. Immediately after this, [genx]Dino! Managed to take full advantage of the chaos in the WkB base and carried off genx's second cap in 37 odd seconds about a minute later. Things were suddenly not looking so good for WkB. Yet again genx managed to make WkB pay, as [genx]Furax grabbed his second of the night to complete a hat trick of quick caps, which, effectively secured them the game at the halfway point. Another cap from [genx]Furax assured this position. However, WkB really gave genx something to think about in the second half, as impressive attacker [WkB]Badass, after narrowly failing to cap seconds earlier managed a free run into the genx base and home again, giving WkB their first cap in a time of 34.4 seconds. However, this was too little too late and genx held on to take the first half of the tie. With the beginning of the second half, WkB were evidently in the mood for an upset, however it was genx who made the better start with a cap from [genx]Furax, who once again managed to forge his way through the WkB defence in the third minute. But, WkB then went into overdrive, repulsing several attacks, and several times managing to force [genx]Furax to relinquish their flag with a well aimed rocket or Green snotball :) Both clans managed to get their hands on each other's flag, but neither managed a cap, until [WkB]LuCiD got his first Savage WkB cap, squaring the game in the 10th minute. He then shocked those watching in #scores and on QTV even further by shooting his clan into the lead 2 minutes later, with a superb cap in the speedy time of 31.6 seconds. Immediately after this, [WkB]Badass decided he'd get in on the action, and managed to cap yet again, in exactly the same time as [WkB]LuCiD just had. It was [WkB]Badass who put the game beyond genx in the 18th minute, capping to finish the game 4 - 1, and at last WkB are starting to show what they can do :) Well played everyone, on a choppy server, both clans played some good CTF. TETRA HYDROCOCANIBOL vs KotR Another default here, THC go home with the points. Division 5 - 17:00 Hmm, chance to grab a cuppa and a fag for those in #scores (except [BBC]Killemall of course :) as all four division 5 games were defaulted, the points going to SPAM, UKLD, QC and division leaders PS. Ah well, we would wait and see what was to happen in division 4, which (thank God) only had one default: Division 4 - 18:00 LETHAL DOSE 50 vs UK FIRM UKF were looking pretty darn tasty going into this game, and were on an unbeaten streak. However, LD50 also had some pretty darn good results recently, and, despite being a fairly young clan by comparison to some of the others in this division, they are getting to be old hands at this Savage business :) So, the first game kicked off and two of the best clans in the division gave battle on the Outlands. It was LD50 who made the real headway in the first half, as veteran LD50-VWCamper put his clan into an early lead , with a nice cap in the 2nd minute. Soon LD50 were two up as LD50-GN who has impressed a lot recently swiped another cap for his clan. Nice work and LD50 were really getting stuck in. LD50 now really began to dominate the game, some excellent defensive work from LD50-HerrBoB and LD50.Grafix keeping their back lines clear whilst their attackers held the midfield steady. This all paid off, as they managed to go 3 - 0 up, courtesy of another cap from LD50-GN in the 12th. The last final nail was hammered into the UKF coffin as LD50-VWCamper got his second of the night in 13th minute, leaving UKF trailing by 4 caps with very little time to make them up. However, to their credit UKF fought on, and it was their top attacking chap [UKF]Guerilla who got himself a consolation cap with 5 minutes to go. UKF started to get back into the game here, but it was too little too late, and LD50 took the half 4 - 1, and with it went UKF's unbeaten record. UKF were far more steady in the 2nd half, and kept good track of the quad and their man management. This showed when their excellent attacker [UKF]_SoLo_, launched them into the lead in the 2nd minute. Things were looking better already. However, UKF failed to press this early advantage home, even when LD50 lost a player. Still, they did hold the important midfield area down well, keeping their lead in tact for another 10 minutes. LD50 finally managed to batter their way through the UKF defence, and it was LD50.Grafix who made the hard yards to his flag, putting LD50 back on even terms. As the final 6 minutes wore on, it looked like the effort UKF had expended on locking down the midfield with some excellent DM work, had tired them out to such an extent that they wouldn't be able to regain their lead. This proved to be the case and the clans finished the game tied at 1 - 1. LD50-Grafix finishing at the top of his team after some excellent work, the same for UKF leader [UKF]Mike. A bloody close game, and one fought with a lot of force. Well played chaps! CAPITALIST BLOODSUCKERS INC. vs NEW KEITH ORDER CBSI really are looking pretty unstoppable at the moment, they are still yet to lose a game in division 4. On the other hand NKO are having a few problems at the moment. But, if they are allowed to play their game they can prove dangerous (See their 10 - 0 second half win over QID after losing the first half in week 2). ![]() CBSI-graZe brings home CBSI's 3rd and final cap of the half. So, the first half got underway at a fairly even pace, and neither clan managed to break through the other's defence. CBSI soon took a frags lead, their midfield cover looking good as well as the defence solid. NKO fought back well, and their defence stayed tight for most of the first half of the game. But, thanks to continued attacks from CBSI, they finally snapped and the bloodsuckers took the lead thanks to a cap from CBSI-Golgo13. Things were looking good for them, and soon the problems in the NKO defence were exploited still further, and CBSI-Chaos, top of the frags list, then made his impression on the game in the cap department to put CBSI 2 up in the 11th minute. NKO managed to regroup and repulse the further attacks from CBSI, but soon, in the 17th minute, CBSI again managed to punch a quaded hole through their defence. It was CBSI-graZe who carried off their last cap of the half, to kill the game off and secure a 3 - 0 victory for CBSI. The teams took their five minute break and soon returned to the server. CBSI looked hot, but NKO's defence had held out well for several stretches in the first half. CBSI would need to control the quad as well as they had and thus be able to get through that defence again.![]() CBSI-Golgo13 on quad attack! This was precisely what CBSI did, and as the second half began they really took the game in their grasp, CBSI-Chaos giving them a very early lead with a cap in the 1st minute of play. Soon they were ahead by two, CBSI-Golgo13 getting his second cap of the night. Behind this action, CBSI-Hobbit kept the NKO attackers at bay with some excellent amped defending. CBSI were very much on song here, and despite the good efforts of [NKO]Hawk and [NKO]Dusk, the caps soon started to roll in, five more coming from CBSI-Golgo13 and CBSI-MhORe before the 12th minute. NKO fought on bravely, but CBSI had locked them out, and they proceeded to sew the match up with two caps from CBSI-Chaos, despite stretches of determined defence from NKO. And that was how it ended. CBSI-Golgo13 was top of the score sheet, some excellent offensive work from this new (as far as I know) player, who is obviously "a bit good". Good work from NKO's defence in stretches, but CBSI remain in tiptop condition, with Zen coming next week :)CLAN GRIEVOUS ANGEL vs NIGHT LORDS Grrr, another default here, Night Lords no longer in Savage operation, CGA take the points. THE ANGRY ANGELS vs QUAKE IMPERIAL DESCENDENTS Corr, bloomin' ell, bit of a close one here. Not a lot to choose between the two clans' records here, both with a few wins and a few losses this season. Both could do with some points. The first half began, and from the offset it looked as if QID were going to dominate as veteran clanleader type dude [QID]Lee put his team ahead in the 2nd minute. However, TAA were not going to be outdone, and they dug in hard. For 18 minutes the two clans slogged it out across the midfield of the map, as their defences clinically and effectively removed any threats to the flag. TAA just couldn't make up that early cap, and QID took the first 3 points of the tie after some top-notch midfield work from both clans, with a player I haven't heard of before [QID]deGuni at the top of the frag list, obviously a very able Quaker. So, the second half began and TAA obviously needed to get something from this match. Both of these clan's experience showed here, as they resolved to fight it out for the quad like proper gentlemen :) However, when no one capped in the first 10 minutes, it was looking like both defences would hold out. Mentions go to [QID]Struis for fragging like a bloody madman and also to [TAA]ScooB who's usual railgun abilities I'm sure played their part :) And indeed that was how it ended, neither clan able to make that vital breakthrough and they each went home with one point from that second leg. Very good game people. Division 3 - 19:00 Possibly the most entertaining division of the lot here, for the simple reason that there were no defaults. Here's how it went: ROK vs APOCALYPSE A pretty even start here in the first game, as neither clan really made any major intrusions into the other's base inside the first quarter. Both defences looked firm, and from #scores it seemed that the quad was being won by both clans fairly evenly. However, ROK looked more impressive in the "hand to hand" area, and soon started to open out a fairly large frag difference. But, they couldn't get that vital cap. Some people say "can't" isn't really a word that is in the vocabulary of [ROK]Veneer, and he finally made the breakthrough in the 13th minute, to put his clan in the driving seat. However, the excellent APO defenders again regrouped, and repulsed the ROK attacks. But, they couldn't stop [ROK]Veneer capping again in the 19th minute. This effectively extinguished any hope of points for APO, and ROK got a final quick cap, to end the game 3 - 0. ROK looked hot, but APO looked dangerous too, having conceded far less caps than many do against ROK. This time ROK were obviously not going to allow their opponents to control their defence and midfield areas as admirably as all 6 of those APO chappies had for 12 minutes of the previous game. They exerted some authority early on and soon took the lead in the 1st minute thanks to a cap from the one and only [ROK]ETHNO :) But, APO again showed their spirit and abilities, their defence tightened, and ROK couldn't get through for another 10 minutes. Again though, in the 11th minute, ROK grabbed another cap courtesy of [ROK]ETHNO, and they looked good to take another 3 points. Finally ROK finished the game off, as [ROK]ETHNO completed his hat trick for the half, and APO were unable to muster a reply. The game ended with that scoreline of 3 - 0 and ROK take all 6 points. THE JUSTICE DEPARTMENT vs ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS Two of the oldest clans came face to face here, on one of the oldest maps around :) AbFab have been having problems of late and player shortages have seen them start to slide down the table. However, TJD continue to impress, with solid defence from you know who ;) and a great attacking line. The game began, and with no beating about the bush TJD stormed the AbFab defence and it was [TJD]Nightmare who carried off a nice cap in just the 3rd minute. The experienced TJD attackers exploited this hole still further as top offensive bod [TJD]Wayfarer put his clan 2 up a minute later. By now TJD really were flexing their muscles and proving why they are a clan to be respected and feared, and in the 7th minute they expanded their lead to 3, thanks to [TJD]Wayfarer getting his second cap of the night. However, AbFab doggedly retaliated, throwing as much as they could at the Justice Department chaps. And this finally paid off as superb veteran {AbFab}NC-17 closed the gap with a cap a minute and a half later. AbFab looked like they were really getting into the game, as their defence held firm with some very good work and TJD had to fight extra hard to get anywhere near the AbFab flag. But, AbFab were still of course 2 caps down and as the match drew to a close it looked increasingly unlikely that they were going to get back into the game, as the TJD defence was obviously in a determined mood. This was indeed the case, and despite some great attacking from the AbFab front line, the game ended 3 - 1 to TJD. Mention to {AbFab}Targy for some pretty bloody amazing fragging, same to {AbFab}NC-17. Same again to [TJD]SimbobX who I believe was on defensive duties, and also to the whole of the TJD front line, who played a blinder. Game two, and TJD got off to another explosive start, [TJD]Nightmare getting an extremely quick cap, putting AbFab on the back foot pretty much from the word go. Soon after this AbFab's position was worsened even more as a minute later [TJD]KMT got a nice cap. AbFab were in trouble. And, although they fought back, pressurising TJD in the midfield, their defence could only hold out a short while longer before [TJD]Wayfarer, having a typically excellent night, put very clear space between the two clans with a cap just as the game was approaching its halfway point. Soon after this, his partner in crime killed the game for AbFab, putting TJD 4 - 0 with a cap in the 11th minute. Here AbFab dug deep and managed to stem the flow of caps that were going against them. However, sadly they had left themselves too much to do, and despite some more superb play from {AbFab}Targy and co. it was too steep a mountain for them to climb. The AbFab guys went down 4 - 0, even though they kept a clean sheet for the final 10 minutes. Special mention to [TJD]Oxtails for some amazing play, and of course to [TJD]Nightmare and [TJD]Wayfarer for some great and efficient capping. AFTERSHOCK vs REVENGE AFT have been looking pretty darn good recently, and haven't lost a game in Savage since week 1. Rv having a relatively "on, off" season, winning some and losing some. Both teams are very, very strong, but like most clans they have their Achilles heel. In Rv's case their current lack of lpbs, in AFT's the tendency to give away an early cap, which means they then have to stretch themselves for the rest of the match. So, both clans pretty evenly matched, here's what happened: Both clans made pretty even starts, covering their entrances and starting to probe into the others territory. ![]() [Rv-Vorvavoo] gets his hands on the AFT flag No caps were forthcoming in the opening minutes, and the two teams settled down into a war of attrition. This continued for 20 minutes, with no caps anywhere! Both teams' defences played very well, calmly dealing with all attackers. In the AFT camp, [AFT]Rave and [AFT]KAnedA played superbly well in their respective positions, racking up a lot of frags, but unable to break through that Rv defence. For Rv, Rv-Gayhole (OK own up, who was it?) had a blinding game, scoring highly in the combat area. And that was how the first half ended, a bit like DM with flags and bases to be honest. Still, we had the second half to look forward to; things were bound to pick up, right? Well, sadly no. [AFT]OUtKast! and [AFT]KAnedA swapped their respective positions in the hope that one of them might bring that vital breakthrough, while Rv played on with the same team.![]() [AFT]Rave is denied entry to the Rv base And the effect was much the same as the first half. Both teams getting a few quads, but each defence neutralising them without too many mishaps. On AFT, [AFT]Rave again gave a great performance, knocking up a fair few frags, and on Rv, it was Rv-Gayhole who gave another good game. But, for 20 minutes, it was DM! No caps were achieved in the 20 minutes, as both clans seemed almost to cancel each other out. The score was another 0 - 0 draw, and not for the want of trying, both clans went home with 2 points.REPETATIVE STRAIN INJURY vs PAIN KILLERS RSi are having a reasonable season at the moment. With some extremely talented players within their ranks, they will cause most clans some problems. PK having a few difficulties at the moment, however and there were a few rumours about them splitting last week. However, I assume these are untrue as they seemed to manage 6 players OK here. Game one began and RSi typically began knocking home those frags. They really showed their prowess though, as [RSi]t00thy and then, a minute later [RSi]gibby got a cap each inside the first two minutes. From this early point onwards PK played well, but were always on the ropes. PK's defenders showed skill in sealing their defence up after this, but it was only a matter of time before RSi capped again, this time thanks to a good solo effort from [RSi]$h@d0w in the 7th minute. Again, PK showed good ability in managing to plug this leak, and their back line stayed unbroken for a good while. However, yet again RSi came screaming in with another attack. But, again it was [RSi]$h@d0w who managed to break and enter, bringing home RSi's fourth cap with a decimating attack. This destruction was taken advantage of again by [RSi]Kev who came straight in within a minute of the previous cap with yet another, making it 5 - 0. Good play that clan! Meanwhile of course, remember the defence. Sitting behind those RSi attackers, was [RSi]Purpz who was excellent, really keeping the RSi lines very clear with ample help from [RSi]t00thy. PK were down and out here, but kept fighting, [PK]EON and [PK]Jab fragging defiantly. But, RSi were well on top and proceeded to sew the game up with caps from [RSi]$h@d0w, completing his hat trick and a final one from RSi stalwart [RSi]t00thy. 7 - 0 it ended, the whole RSi team showing excellent play, PK's defenders looking good, but their attackers having a few difficulties. Well played especially to [RSi]$h@d0w, [RSi]Purpz, and [RSi]t00thy in their respective positions. PK began the second half far more steadily, and their all areas of their team played well in the opening minutes to hold off RSi. But, despite these good first few minutes, RSi set PK back yet again, in the 4th, with a good cap from [RSi]t00thy. PK's defence reformed, but they could only hold out for another 5 minutes until they were again battered by [RSi]$h@d0w, who scored his 4th cap of the night in the 10th minute. But, PK kept fighting hard, and [PK]Peg and [PK]EON performed well in their positions. Again the PK defenders closed their lines and RSi were forced back. For some reason CMMBOT failed to report RSi's third cap, and so I cannot give you any details of it. But, suffice to say RSi took the second half 3 - 0, and, even though PK displayed good abilities in many areas, it was RSi who went home with the points. Division 2 - 20:00 THE FALLEN vs COWBOYS FROM HELL As we all know TF are looking very impressive and I think it's a fairly safe bet to say that they will win this season's division 2 title. With an excellent variety of players, they are strong in jut about all departments. CFH had a bad start to the season, with some early losses. However, over the past few weeks, CFH have begun to resemble the clan of two seasons ago, with some good wins, and some real talent, as well all know :) So, two of the best clans in the division went to work here, with a view to kicking the crap outta each other :) In game one TF fielded a slightly different team to that which we are used to seeing, and instead of the usual two attacking hpbs, [TF]Pinkporker went out and hpb [TF]Katana came in on defence where he has been impressive lately, with the one and only [TF]Andy"UK. So, no [TF]Leviathan on defence with [TF]Andy"UK, the TF front line was comprised of [TF]Bats, [TF]Mrs^B, [TF]Nookie and slightly further back [TF]Nighthawk. CFH playing with their normalish team, one which has served them well recently. The first 20 minutes began, [TF]Pinkporker voicing his support in #scores for us :) Both clans showed their experience here, and made sure not to give away early caps in the first few minutes. But, CFH showed their DM abilities, and started to truly pile on the frags. After 5 minutes they had 44 more than TF. But, as we all know, it's those elusive caps that count. After 12 minutes, still no caps occurred, but CFH were looking powerful, 78 frags ahead. But, it was TF who proved that frags don't win CTF, as finally they managed to show why they're top of the division, top attack star [TF]Nookie capping to put them ahead in the 13th minute. From there on TF started to get into the game a little better, and more caps were to follow. The first of these came from [TF]Mrs^B in the 14th minute. Soon it was 3 - 0 and TF had really snatched the game from CFH, the third cap again coming from [TF]Mrs^B. CFH got their act together again for a few minutes, but it was too little too late, as TF clan leader [TF]Bats hammered home TF's fourth and final cap. A superb performance from a clan who at one stage really were on the ropes. I can't really mention any single player here, as all 12 of them played so well, but I would say that in my view, one trait of a great clan is one who can win even when it is getting punished. A great game, the second half was set to be a cracker. However, for the most part it wasn't. Both clans again started steadily, ensuring that they didn't give away silly caps. The game continued apace, but yet again, neither clan seemed able to get past the other's excellent defence. This time TF managed to keep up with CFH on frags, and things looked like they were so tight that we might end up with a 0 - 0 result here. After 15 minutes, things were sooooo close, TF leading by one frag. This continued right down to the wire. With 18 minutes to go, things were still ever so tight. Some in #scores believed that CFH would be happy with a draw against the in form TF. However, a certain hpb monkey whom I think of as one of the finest around decided that no, a draw wasn't a good enough result. Yes, it was [CFH]Flapper who, with literally a minute to go caused scenes of jubilation amongst CFH supporters in #scores by racing home with the TF flag under heavy fire to give CFH a sudden, resounding win! With the remaining few seconds TF really had no hope of recovering a point, and the game ended with all 3 going to CFH. Some people were calling this an upset, however, I don't agree. CFH have been looking increasingly good over the past weeks, and although it seemed unlikely that they could beat TF, I wouldn't call it an upset. Anyway, yet again, well played to both clans for a bloody good game, both gave everything, and its strange to think that after 19 minutes of end to end deadlock one lone grapple monkey could do that. A great tie, I think these two clans should play each other every week just for the entertainment! COVERT OPERATIONS vs EXECUTIONERS Co not having the best of seasons at the moment. What with a few player problems etc, they are looking likely to go down at the end of the season. However, they do have some very competent players throughout their ranks, and they definitely still pose a threat to most clans. eXe are looking their usual dangerous selves. They're one of the most competent CTF clans going, and one to be feared and respected. It was eXe who made the better start here, top midfielder [eXe]Deadmode going on a quad rampage through the Co base and capping in the 2nd minute. However, [Co]Undertaker then steadied his defence, and eXe were unable to sneak any caps. ![]() Despite the efforts of [Co]Badlands SPOOKS vs HELL'S FURY HsF are currently in a few problems in division 2, and have begun sliding down that table a little. However, don't let that fool you, they are truly a collection of some of the best players you will find. Spooks have been looking pretty good recently, despite one or two slightly disappointing results, they remain one of the clans to beat. So, we took a look at the two clan's team lists. Ahem, SPKs have "come by" one or two new players recently, and have not hesitated in drafting them straight into their Savage team. I will leave you to your own opinions of this, but lets just say that two thirds, that's 66.6%, yes that's 4 in 6, yes that is the majority, yes that is a large part, in fact two for every one of the SPKs players were ex UNR players ;) Draw your own judgements. ;) HsF had their usual line up of good, good players, ready to do battle. And, despite probably being viewed as the underdogs by many, they were ready for a scrap. So, the first half kicked off, and it was obvious that neither clan was in the mood to arse about. A very attack minded start saw SPKs take a very early lead thanks to an excellent surprise cap from [SPKs]Raichu, showing why he is one of the hottest properties in Savage. However, HsF soon managed to recover from the shell shock of losing such an early cap, and in the 4th minute they came inches from capping, really giving SPKs a warning. Then in the 8th minute [SPKs]Raichu made a very promising attack, cutting right through the HsF defence. However, [HsF]Ixia was there to put a well-aimed rocket in him. The score stayed a very close 1 - 0. At the same time, HsF continued to play their normal attacking game, not particularly building their attacks up, rather raining down many, many attacks as often as possible. The main players in this were [HsF]quakegod and [HsF]Gracken who managed to get their hands on the SPKs flag a lot of times, and it was only some superb defensive work from [SPKs]BULLY and [SPKs]DaMaK that kept them from capping. Also worthy of note was some totally supreme railing from [HsF]Pod, both on attack and flag recovery. The wide open spaces of Q2CTF4 really were suiting his dead-eye aim with the rg. Again and again [HsF]quakegod, [HsF]Gracken and [HsF]Pod rained down the attacks on the SPKs base, getting their hands on the flag several times, and continued to test the SPKs defenders. However, by the same token [SPKs]DIABOLIC and his compatriots played very well, and several times were only stopped from capping after getting the flag out of the HsF base by a well aimed rg slug from [HsF]Pod in the midfield area. Both clans continued to nick the others flag, ex HsF star [SPKs]Moon playing against his old clan twice bundled the HsF flag out and almost away. Finally, in the 17th[SPKs]DIABOLIC got the HsF flag out and away, but only got home to find that TOP hpb attacker [HsF]Gracken had paid the SPKs base a little visit, and had at last managed to get their flag out and away. Stalemate. Desperately HsF tried to wrestle the flag from [SPKs]DIABOLIC's possession, but they just couldn't manage it and SPKs won the half 1 - 0. A bloody good game. SPKs were obviously unwilling to play such a close game with HsF in the second half, and again HsF were made to pay in the early minutes as [SPKs]Moon again set them back early with a nice cap. But, again HsF managed to stabilise themselves again, and their defenders got back on top of the task in hand. However, this could only last for another 6 minutes or so before [SPKs]Moon yet again smashed through the HsF defence to bring home SPKs' second cap in a phenomenal 28.6 seconds. SPKs then proceeded to keep up the pressure on the HsF base, and it was only thanks to some top class defence and flag recovery from clan leader [HsF]War and from [HsF]Pod that they didn't cap again. But after a flurry of flag swaps from both clans, SPKs finally managed to get another cap, this one coming from clan leader [SPKs]seccy. HsF looked done for :( Soon after, thanks to a [SPKs]BULLY flag return, [SPKs]Raichu was able to get his first cap of the half. Pretty soon SPKs had the map locked down, and the caps came flooding in, thanks to [SPKs]DIABOLIC and [SPKs]Moon. Finally after the dust cleared, SPKs had managed impressive 6 caps. No individual special mentions here, as in my opinion all 12 players played an excellent game. Good stuff people. A very good game, SPKs looking very impressive in all areas. However, HsF may be down, but with a performance like that, there's no doubt that in my mind that they're not yet out. CLAN KRUSTY vs SOUL REAPERS Ck continue to look in good nick at the moment and have taken points from all of their ties bar one so far. They are a threat to any and all clans in the division. We already saw last week how to of the best attackers in the division, [Ck]Firestorm and [CK]SpK simply took a defence apart. SR aren't having such a good season, but they have pulled a couple of great results, and with talent such as [SR]Bod (probably one of the best 3 hpb defenders going) they can cause anyone a shock. In the first half though, it was Ck who took the proverbial bull by the horns, as top midfielder [Ck]Hoppy blasted them into an early lead with a nice cap in the 3rd minute of play. However it wasn't long before top hpb attacker [Ck]SpK got into the action, and it was he who, with cover from partner [Ck]Hoppy put the Krusty lads 2 - 0 up in the 4th minute. Pretty soon the floodgates opened, and not even [SR]Bob could stop [Ck]SpK and [CK]Hoppy and then [Ck]SpK again from capping. By now, Ck pretty much had all of the map's assets tied down, and after 10 minutes of play they were 5 - 0 up, things looking grim for the Reapers. From #scores it seemed as if [Ck]SpK and [Ck]Hoppy were in competition as [Ck]Hoppy levelled the score at 3 a piece with another cap in the 12th minute. Also, [Ck]Firestorm's lack of caps and his ferociously large score led us to believe he was playing defence? A player of many talents! Soon [Ck]SpK took another cap to his name in the 14th minute, and soon managed to come round full circle again to get his second in a row 2 minutes later, making it 9 - 0. (I think). Finally the game was rounded off with a tenth cap from only the third player to get his name on the scoresheet, [Ck]Krusty. SR with no answer to the punishment they had just taken, but they did have the comfort of being in the blue base for the second half. Sadly though, this comfort was not enough to make them secure their base early, and [Ck]SpK made sure they were punished for this, sneaking off with an early cap for Ck, putting them already in the driving seat. However, [SR]Bob did, to his credit regroup and consolidate his defence, and, thanks to some superb work from him, it remained impossible for the Ck attackers to get in and out of the SR base alive with the flag. This held solid for some time, allowing the SR attackers to move up the field and begin attacking the Ck base. However, they weren't going to get in thanks to some excellent defensive work from [Ck]Hoppy who it appeared had swapped positions with [Ck]Firestorm and also from [Ck]Krus. However, at the other end of the map [Ck]Firestorm really was on top of his game and was causing he SR defence all manner of problems. As the halfway mark approached it seemed only a matter of time until he got in and out with the flag. Finally this he did and, in the 15th minute after the umpteenth decimating strike he managed to get home with the flag for his first cap of the night. It was 2 - 0, and SR looked in deep trouble now. Finally in the 18th minute, it was another great cap from [Ck]Firestorm that finally slammed the door in SR's face. A 3 - 0 win, in the face of some superb defending from the SR boys, Ck really do look, to me like a clan with an incredibly potent weapon in the [Ck]Firestorm and [Ck]SpK combination, as well as being rather solid at the back. A very good game, SR show ability again, but sadly have nothing to show for it again. Division 1 - 21:00 Aww man, another load of defaults, and a postponement :( Ah well, #scores still had some good entertainment from CMMAdmin's coverage of DS v Hg... SUICIDE SQUAD vs HAPPYCHAPS On the Sunday this game was postponed for some reason that I'm not aware of. However it is set to be played on the Saturday following, so we would see who would win this interesting contest then. UNREAL vs BIG BASTARD CLAN A default here for BBC, although I'm sure we could have got SPKs to play it ;) LETHAL ENFORCERS vs BLOODED YAUTJA CLAN LE take the points here, bYc absent :( HONOUR GUARDZ vs DEFENDERS SHERWOOD Hg not having the best season at the moment. Like LE they have some very, very talented players and some good tactics. However, unlike LE, they seem to have been unable to come to terms with the difference between divisions 1 and 2. But, they can cap against anyone, and are not a force to be underestimated. DS always show themselves to be a very skilful clan, and remain a team to be reckoned with. With solid defence, and some top-notch attackers, they started this match the favourites. Both of the team's defences made a very solid start here, Hg on red, DS on blue, and neither team's attackers managed to get their hands on the other's flag in the first 3 minutes. Finally the first proper assault came from DS, however [DS]BU was instantly vaporised as soon as he got the Hg flag by a well aimed (well any kind will do) BFG from [Hg]STYLE. DS continued their constant assault on the Hg base, and only thanks to some very good railing and roxing did Hg stop them from getting clear of the base. Finally, after 11 minutes, [DS]BU's peRSistence paid off and he managed to get out and away from the base, with the flag, capping in a pretty quick 35.6 seconds. 1 - 0 to DS. The unsteadiness that this caused the Hg defence allowed [DS]FT to immediately charge in and out again with the flag, putting the Defenders 2 - 0 up in 34.2 seconds. The Hg defence was out for the count, and it was only thanks to some good chasing and a BFG that [Hg]STYLE managed to stop [DS]NS opening the gap still further. Sadly for Hg, as soon as they managed to get their defenders fully kitted out and powered up, [DS]BU again rampaged through their base, bringing home DS's third cap in a time of 41.8 seconds. With DS's good control over the map's features, Hg looked finished. With just 3 minutes to go, [DS]BU finished off his hat trick, giving DS a four nil lead. The game was rounded off as the third of DS's excellent attacking trio got his first cap of the night. Yes it was [DS]NS who gave DS the 5 - 0 win, the defenders looking good for the second half that they would be spending in the red base. Well played to them, Hg were looking most impressive, [HG]Andwoo and [Hg]STYLE looking smart, but they just couldn't stop some of the major attacks that their base had been coming under from [DS]BU, [DS]FT and [DS]NS. Also, some very good defensive work from [DS]MU as usual, with partner [DS]RH kept the DS base safe as houses. Well played both teams. For the second half Hg made a few alterations, [Hg]M.O.D out for [Hg]"the boy who refuses to grow up"Rauper! Mixed views on this in #scores: [CMM-Kill2> _10Admin-Killemall in Q2 Says : raupers playin, hg are gonna ave minus frags at end of this :) All in jest I'm sure ;) With no changes to the DS line up, the second half began, and in the opening minute Hg's base was immediately subjected to a major full frontal assault from [DS]BU and [DS]NS. They got their hands on the flag twice each, and it was only some good defence from [Hg]STYLE and [Hg]-aji- that stopped them from capping. A minute or so after this, both clans managed to get their opponent's flag, but ahh! Disaster! ![]() [Hg]Rauper is tantalisingly close [CMM-Kill2> _12[Hg]rauper_10 blew himself up. [CMM-Kill2> _10[Hg]rauper_4 lost the RED flag. [CMM-Kill2> _10[DS]FT_4 Returned the RED flag. [CMM-Kill2> _10[DS]NS_12 captured the BLUE flag in 46.4 Seconds. [CMM-Kill2> _4 Red :- 1 _12 Blue :- 0 hehehehe ;) 1 - 0 to DS. However, [Hg]Rauper was actually playing a blinding game. Fragging like there was no tomorrow, several times he launched some partially successful attacks on the DS base, only failing to cap because of DS's characteristically good defence. Immediately after this first DS cap, [DS]WL did his thang, storming through the Hg base once again, and bringing home the bacon in 36.2 seconds. Hg really were on the ropes and soon after this, it was the turn of DS's main defender [DS]MU to do his bit in attack. Yep, he managed to get there and back, with the flag, capping in a time of 42.2 seconds. However, Hg weren't going to lie down and die here, and with 7 minutes gone, they really pulled together, and fought back. This really started to pay off as they finally broke the DS defence and [Hg]Andwoo, playing a very good game, gave Hg their first cap of the night, despite some opposition on the way home. Hg had 12 minutes to rescue the game. But, DS showed their experience here, and pulled back slightly, willing to sit on their lead, feeling fairly sure that Hg wouldn't pull back 2 caps in the rapidly decreasing amount of time they had. And this worked, and for another 5 minutes, Hg couldn't cap, despite throwing everything they had at the DS defenders. Finally, top midfielder [Hg]Niggy, who had been having a fairly quiet game pulled back another cap for Hg, ensuring a tense final 5 minutes. ![]() [Hg]Niggy gives Hg a slip of a chance! And Hg tried their hardest, they really did give everything. But it just wasn't quite enough and some excellent defending from [DS]RH ensured that DS would take the 3 points from this game. An excellent effort from both clans, Hg finally seem to be acclimatising to division 1, but sadly came away without any reward in this match. Well played to all 12 players, they all gave something to a very interesting and exciting game.Well, that's it folks, quite a few defaults, but hey, it was still fun =) Same time next week people! .. (Well maybe a bit earlier ;) Cheers, Kagemusha P.S. apologies for the lateness of this report. I have been unable to get on my PC much recently, and therefore things were running a little late. Thanks for bearing with me :) |
