Rules for The SavageUK q3cctf League

The Savage Council and Match Admins

Council Chairman - Slave

Council Members - Are as follows:

At NO point will you verbally abuse any of the Savage Council or Admins, if you do you will receive a 2 Match ban and if that does not stop the abuse then your clan will be removed from the league.

Grievances will only be listened to via email.

If, for whatever reason, you have a grievance against a Match Admin then please email it to The Savage Council

If, for whatever reason, you have a grievance against a Council Member then please email it to The Savage Council Chairman

Please do not expect problems to be sorted out on the night.

Once you have mailed your grievance you should expect a reply within a week.

If you are experiencing problems with connecting to a SavageUK (Match or Public) Server from any ISP, please perform a DOS tracert to the IP of the server you are experiencing problems with and post the results to the server forum and the problem will be investigated.

Match Format and Rules

Quake 3 Classic CTF Server Mod - Quake3 v1.32 Threewave v1.6

Server Settings - Are as follows:

· Q3 Client Version 1.32
· Threewave Version 1.7
· SV_Pure ON
· Frag Limit: 0
· Capture limit: 0
· Max Clients: 14
· Weapon stay: Default CCTF

Pausing - Pauses are allowed during the game only to allow for Connection problems,e.g players dropping from server or suffering 999 pings.

· A 2 minute maximum length pause is allowed per clan, per game.
· The length of pause may be increased at the admins discretion, but PLEASE bear in mind that there is a schedule to be kept to - admins are under strict orders not to let matches overrun.Match admins may restart matches as soon as your 2 minute time limit is reached due to time constraints.
· It is a up to the team to Call for the Pause. The Admin must be asked by a team member to pause the game.
· As soon as you are ready to resume play,please inform the match admin.

Please join your team via the 'esc' menu.

Season Length - 7 weeks

Maps - Maps will be decided before the commencement of each season and will be publicised on the Savage CCTF league news page.

It is up to you to have the correct maps.

Match Times - During a Season Matches are played once a week on a Tuesday Evening.

Start times are dependent on your Division and are as follows:

· Division 1: 9pm
· Division 2: 8pm

All times are GMT, please add one hour if you are in the CET timezone.

Rescheduling of Matches - A clan may only reschedule one Match a season, BUT the other clan must agree first and may, if they wish, turn you down therefore receiving a Default win.

Match Length - A match consists of two 18-minute games.

Games will start as near to the Match Time as possible. The latest a game will start is as follows:

· First game start: 5 Minutes after the hour.

This will give clans a maximum of 5 minutes (subject to the discretion of the Match Admin) to join the server initially.

It is up to you to be on the Match Server in time for the game.

Please join your team and ready up promptly.Match admins are instructed to force start matches if players do not ready up on time.
It is recommended that Clans stay on the Match Server between games, as the Match Admins are instructed NOT to wait for overflows or players reconnecting.

Match Colours - From the fixtures page the team on the LEFT will always go BLUE in the first game.

Team size - 6 players.

If a Clan turns up with less than 4 (FOUR) players by the latest starting time then the Match Admin will default the game to the other clan.

If during a game a Clan drops below 4 (FOUR) players a Default will be awarded to the other Clan - overflows are of course excluded from this rule.

Defaults - In the occurrence of a default being given the following will be awarded per game defaulted:

· 3 game points
· 6 Caps

If a Clan defaults halfway though a game the above will count unless the Cap score is greater in which case the greater Cap score will be given.

A Clan will not be allowed to continue capping if the opposition has defaulted the game.

If a Clan should miss/default 2 league Matches in a season then they will be removed from the League.
If a clan drops from the league,all previous results will be reset to default wins in favour of opposing clans.

Match Scoring - Each game is classed as a separate entity.

Points will be given out per game as follows:

· 3 points for a win
· 1 point for a draw

If each Clan has the same amount of Caps by the end of a game it will be classed as a Draw.

If, at the end of the Season, two Clans end up with the same score for first place a 'decider' will be played in 'week 8'

Internet Relay Chat - Details are as follows:

· Server: irc.barrysworld.com
· Match Channel: #savage.q3
· Admin Channel: #admins
· Council Channel: #council

Match Server details will be given out 5 minutes before a Match Starting time in the Match Channel and will not be given out any earlier so please do not ask.

Match Server details are also shown on the fixtures page. Sometimes it is needed to change server, so please double check these details on the night in IRC.

Swearing, spamming or anything else classed as disruptive in #savage.q3, #admins and #council is not permitted; you WILL be kicked/banned if you do so.

Please make sure a Clan representative is in #savage.q3 to collect server details.

Please wear your Clan Tag if you are in #savage.q3 If you do not wear your Clan Tag you WILL be kicked.

These details will only be given out in this channel.

Please do NOT join the Match Server until an Admin gives the all clear.

Please do NOT join #admins or #council unless you are requested to do so by a Council Member or in the case of #admins you are a Match Admin. If you do then you WILL be kicked.

If the IRC server crashes please use either one of the following:

· IRC.THEDBS.COM
· CHAT.UK.QUAKENET.EU.ORG

Match Server Crashes - This, unfortunately, does sometimes happen.

If it does please go to IRC #savage.q3 and await your new Match Server details.

If a spare Match Server cannot be found then the Match will be replayed at a later, mutually convenient date to be decided by the Savage Council.

Following a Server Crash the game will be played with the following game Length:

· Time remaining Between 15 and 20 Minutes: 20 minutes
· Time remaining Between 10 and 15 Minutes: 15 minutes
· Time remaining Between 5 and 10 Minutes: 10 minutes
· Time remaining Between 1 and 5 Minutes: 5 minutes
· Time remaining One Minute or less: No Replay

It is understandable that a Clan might feel aggrieved due to Techs being held and position on the map. This cannot be taken into account in a replay.

If the Match Server crashes before 5 minutes of game has been played then it will be classed as a new game and any Cap score will be lost.

If a game has been playing for more than 5 minutes then the Cap score at the time of the Match Server crash will be carried forward to the replay. LPBs - There is NO LPB Limit.

Rate - Should be 10000 or below.

If a Match Admin finds a player with a rate above that they will be asked to lower it.

If the player concerned does not lower their rate within 2 minutes of being asked they WILL be kicked from the game.

Frames per Second - There is NO FPS Limit at this time.


Spamming the server - Will NOT be tolerated.

Please keep all messages to 'Messagemode 2'. It is up to you to find out how to do this.

If a player repeatedly uses 'Messagemode 1' to Spam the Match Server they WILL be kicked.

The Kill command must not be used in the first minute of the game.

The q3cctf Boardroom - Is there for you to say what's on your mind.

However it is NOT there to verbally abuse any of the Savage Council or Admins, if you do you will receive a 2-Match ban and if that does not stop the abuse then your clan will be removed from the league.

If you have a grievance do NOT use the Boardroom. Instead please use the grievance procedures as detailed above.

The Savage Council reserves the right to delete posts that are felt to bring the Savage q3cctf League into disrepute.

Clan Whoring - Will NOT be tolerated.

A player cannot play for more than one team within the Savage q3cctf League or the Savage q3cctf Academy.

If a player changes Clan there must be a gap of 8 days between their last appearance for their old Clan and their first appearance for their new Clan. If it is found that a player has broken this rule the Match they played in will be classed as a Default in favour of the opposing Clan. The player will also receive a 2 match Ban. If a Clan breaks this rule twice they will be kicked from the League.

It is up to the Clan to make sure they know who is playing for them.

A player may play for more than one Clan if it is for another MOD.

In order to field a new player, SavageUK q3cctf clans must ensure that they abide by the following:

  • The player must be registered on the clan's CAPS members list.
  • the player must not be fielded for a period of 8 days from the time they join the SavageUK q3cctf clan from the day they click their confirmation email. This applies for all new members irrespective of whether they joined from another SavageUK q3cctf clan, a non-Savage clan or were unclanned prior to membership.

As long as the opposition team and the match admin are satisfied that the player is who they say they are, then a match may proceed, but there will be no scope for complaint after the match UNLESS the player is found out not to be who it was claimed he was. The match admin has the power to over-rule a clan. If the match admin is satisfied, the match may proceed.

If a clan wants to complain about a player name, they must do it before the game starts, and if they let the game proceed it is taken as read that they have accepted who they are facing as opposition.

If a clan is found to be fielding a player who is not on their members list, or within the two week tied period, that clan will be penalised by a three point deduction per incident.

A player may still not play for two clans within SavageUK q3cctf, so if the player's original clan also join the SavageUK q3cctf League, that player must chose which clan he will play for. He may change his mind, but will be subject to the two match period during which he may not play.

Bots - Will NOT be tolerated.

Bots are easy to spot. If a player is found to be using a Bot they will be banned for LIFE. Bots include Speed, auto-aim bots, health bots, etc...

Proxies - Will NOT be tolerated.

If a player joins a Match Server with a Non-default port they WILL be kicked.

It is up to the player to make sure they connect using the default port.


Auto-synching/Auto- timers
- Will NOT be tolerated.

If a player is found to be using an auto-synching timer they will be kicked. - Note by auto-synching we mean the automated team-wide synchronisation of a timed event (Quad spawn, tech spawn, etc..) or the automated starting of a timer.


Hacked .exe Files,.DLLs or Wallhacks 
- Will NOT be tolerated.

If a player is found to be using a hacked .exe file they will be banned for LIFE.

Spectators - Are NOT allowed on to the Match server.

If a member of a Clan joins a Match Server and is not playing they will be asked to leave by the Match Admin. If they do not leave they WILL be kicked.

Subs - Are NOT allowed on to the server unless:

· Their Clan drops a player due to disconnection.

Once the dropped player rejoins the Sub should drop.

Comms - Real-time voice programmes such as Battlefield Communicator and Roger Wilco are permitted.

However Automated Team 'powerup/item' timers are NOT permitted.

If a Clan is found to be using an automated timer then they will have that game defaulted against them.

If caught for a 2nd time that Clan will be kicked from the League.

Programs that enable Team .wav messages are NOT allowed due to the ability to use them for 'powerup/item' timing.

The Savage UK q3cctf League reserves the right to change these rules as and well it feels it neccessary.
